My AGY experience in Bangkok, Thailand was particularly special. I’ve been to Bangkok multiple times, always drawn back by the peaceful people, the delicious and incredibly inexpensive food, and the golden pagodas next to the mega malls.

This invitation to attend an AGY class was particularly special because it came from Opal, fellow CAGI, fellow business owner, and fellow octopus. Owning my own business, I can relate to the need for octopus arms, keeping the business running AND growing, the students safe AND progressing, our own skills sharp AND soft, the level of excellence high AND higher. I can speak first hand at how NOT easy it is to wear so many hats.

So to witness Opal’s passion for her students and dedication to excellence was so inspiring for me. It reminded me of how not alone I am on my entrepreneurial quest toward inner and outer wealth. And I hope it reminds all of you that you are never alone, no matter how unusual the circumstances you find yourself in. Sure, there’s always someone in a better circumstance… AND there is always someone worse. But there will always be people who are just like you that you haven’t yet met, who know exactly what you’re going through. Believe this truth.

Though I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars on coaches, counselors, therapists, mentors and trainers, a part of me still feels the need to perform, to be perfect.

As the class started, she introduced me and for a moment I felt like I had to be perfect and really give the other students the performance of a lifetime. Ha, I laughed at myself. Though I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars on coaches, counselors, therapists, mentors and trainers, a part of me still feels the need to perform, to be perfect. Sigh.

The class was taught in Thai, but by now, I was used to attending class in completely foreign languages. This time though, I learned my numbers, so not to be as dazed as in my AGY class in Korea. I'm always so honored when the instructors switch to English, to make me feel included.

The most distinguishing part of this class was how much fun we had, the weee and wooo noises we made, and the shenanigans some of the students were up to. It's exactly how I teach my classes, with lightness and humor. I so loved that the other women came to class to play and not take themselves seriously. It makes my soul smile whenever strangers come together in an AGY studio, and through laughter and silliness become instant friends, within the span of 45min.

It goes without saying that she wouldn't let me pay for the class. As she gave me a lift to the sky train station, we compared notes on how to be there for your students, and your business, and your support team, you’re your family, and your friends, and yourself. It’s a pretty tall order! I've not met anyone who embraces the authenticity of Christopher Harrison's Antigravity movement as much as Opal. Safety is top priority and enjoyment is guaranteed.

I will cherish this golden experience from Wings Aerial Club’s golden hammocks for a long time to come! And I do believe that  Istanbul, Turkey will be my next stop!
